Caviar, the Privilege of Upper Classes

Caviar exudes an air of nobility from birth. It's the roe(eggs) of sturgeons which are called "Royal Fish" by the English royal family. The word "caviar" comes from the Persian language, and it started being that in England in the 16th century. Caviar has been a symbol of love and honor since ancient Egypt, and it was served as a course menu item for Vatican and imperial families during the medieval era in Europe. Louis XIII was such a fan of caviar that he even ordered it to be delivered by a special coach from the Caspian Sea.

During the 18th to 19th centuries in Russia, caviar was also a symbol of wealth and status. In 1964, it was discovered that caviar has cell structures that are identical to human skin cells, and it became popular as an ingredient in cosmetic products.
